Can I get a free estimate?

Do you have to come to my home to complete an estimate? Is there another method?
In-home estimates are free and are the best way to assess your needs and provide an accurate estimate of your moving costs. However, we are evolving with the times and market demands. We now offer 2-way video chats and an emailed inventory form for you to complete as methods to get the information we need to provide your estimate. What happens if my move takes more time or costs more than my original estimate?
All local moves are based on an hourly rate. Your final costs will be determined by the actual time to complete service, unless stated otherwise. For interstate moves, most are based on the actual weight of the shipment, and you will be charged accordingly. Minimums may apply. It is our goal to be within 10% of the estimated time or weight.
Do you offer moving supplies such as boxes and tape?

Can Worldwide Moving Systems provide storage?
We offer two types of storage: containerized storage in our warehouse and Space/Ships, our brand of portable storage containers. Click here for more details (scroll down to Storage & Space/Ships).
Can Worldwide Moving Systems provide packing?
We offer professional packing and unpacking for individual items and up to full pack/unpack services. We will customize to your needs and budget.
Can Worldwide Moving Systems move my car/motorcycle?
Yes we can. This service is not available to all destinations. If our rate isn’t competitive, we can refer you to another company who specializes in the service.
What is a Certified Moving Consultant?
A Certified Moving Consultant has been tested by the American Moving Association of America (AMSA), the leading industry training and accountability organization. Certification gives the consultant recognition for having the industry knowledge and experience it takes to provide superior service. All Certified Moving Consultants must agree to and adhere to a code of ethics, bringing assurance to you that the consultant is a true professional.
How far in advance should I notify Worldwide Moving Systems of my move?
Generally, we prefer two weeks notice for local moves. The summer is the busiest season for our industry, so more time should be allowed, especially if you are moving out of state. Dependent upon seasonal availability, we can often coordinate your move within a week.
Is Worldwide Moving Systems licensed and insured?
The State of Maryland does not regulate the household goods moving industry and no special licensing is required. We do hold all insurances, business licensing, and other requirements for services moves within the State of Maryland. Also, we are federally approved and authorized to provide interstate household goods moves (including Washington DC).
Credit Card Policy:
If you are using a credit card for final payment on your move you will need to give your customer service representative your credit card information over the phone prior to the day of your move. Pre-authorization is required 24 – 48 hours in advance of the service date for your move for the estimated price you were quoted. Pre-authorization verifies the funds are available and puts a “hold” on that amount but does not actually process the charge. After the move is complete, and you verify the final charges, we will process the credit card charge for the actual cost of your move.
