Although the moving industry is a male-dominated industry, women, applying their unique set of skills, play a significant role in lifting up and promoting success in the relocation businesses they work for.
One woman that has successfully navigated this field is our owner Toni Jones.
Toni Jones owns Worldwide Moving Systems (a dba for A-Whisco Inc). She purchased the company when it only had two trucks as a way to become an independent business owner following an unsatisfying career in public education. She employed friends, family and college students to complete local moves, then began completing military origin and destination services for crated household goods.
Started in 1973, a time when being a woman-owned business in the moving industry was very unique. She perservered winning military sub contracts and branching out to industrial equipment moves, residential house hold moves, retail deliveries and office moves.
In addition, providing crate-and-freight services for over 40 years for long distance and international moves long before many other movers in the area. She also acquired another moving company in Lexington Park called Quality Transfer and Storage.
Her dedication to excellence, high quality training, and a commitment to the customer’s experience, has been paramount to her success. The company is family owned and operated with her daughters working in the company at some points in it’s history and currently her husband, son and brother in law at the helm.
Toni continues to make sure that Worldwide and Quality are staying current in the economic market and provide direction that will constitute a profitable success while keeping the core values the business has predicated growth upon.
